An Ashington-based charity has raised more than £700 with a supermarket bag pack with a difference.
Bad Apples North East held fundraiser in Morrisons in Tynemouth, where Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers were on hand to make sure shoppers ‘coughed up their pennies’.
The event raised a total of £723.19.
Caroline Ball, manager of Bad Apples North East, said: “Thank you to Darth Vader and his stomptroopers from the 99th Garrison who gave their time free of charge to help this cause, and of course to Morrisons.
“Every penny will go to keeping Bad Apples North East running successfully, so a huge thank you to everyone.”
