Electrical goods and jewellery stolen

ELECTRICAL items and jewellery have been stolen during a burglary in Cramlington.

Thieves broke into a house in Selby Close between 8.45am and 4.50pm on Monday.

Amongst the items taken were an 18 carat gold dolphin shaped pendant encrusted with 27 blue sapphires and 16 diamonds, a gold herringbone men’s bracelet, a black iPad, a black Fujitsu laptop, a black NC10 netbook, an 18 carat gold belcher chain, a black iPod touch, a heart shaped onyx ring, a white and pink Baby G watch, a gold oval shaped onyx ring, a gold cladagh ring, pieces of costume jewellery and an amount of cash.

Enquiries into the burglary are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone with any information into the incident, or the whereabouts of the stolen items, to contact them.

Cramlington Neighbourhood Inspector Trevor Oakley said: “A large amount of jewellery was taken in the burglary and we are making enquiries to try and locate the stolen items and the people responsible.

“If anyone saw people acting suspiciously in Selby Close on Monday or saw any suspicious vehicles or behaviour then I’d ask them to pass that information on to us.

“We have extra patrols in the area and are speaking with people to see if anyone has any information that could help.

“Residents need to ensure their homes are secure and locked whenever they leave them, day or night. Make sure valuables are put away and not left out on show.

“Regardless of where in the area you live, if you see people hanging around or acting suspiciously then report it to police. You could help prevent a burglary or crime from taking place.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
