An array of activities and events has taken place as Brownies around the county marked their 100th anniversary.

In the Blyth division the celebrations closed with a special ‘Big Brownie Birthday Party’ for all its Brownies.

Entertainment was provided by ‘Magic Mickey’ followed by party games, and refreshments included cup-cakes decorated with the celebration logo.

Commissioner Barbara Craigs said: “The original Brownies had lots of fun and made lots of friends and this hasn’t stopped since.

“Brownies in the division can look forward to lots of exciting adventures being planned by unit leaders for the future.”

Volunteering to help in a Brownie unit is a fantastic hobby that makes a positive difference to today’s girls.
