Rubber ducks are set to take over Seaton Sluice harbour this weekend.
A rubber duck race and a free family fun day are taking place at the harbour from noon to 4pm on Sunday, September 7, in order to raise £10,000 for the NSPCC.
Residents are invited to pop in to Keel Row shopping centre’s Brighthouse store in Blyth, which is organising the event, and pick their £1 duck of choosing.
Contestants will then be able to race their yellow friend down the harbour at 4pm for a chance to win a range of technological goodies, including a PS4, mobile phones, vouchers and computers.
Other free activities on offer throughout the day will include games, a bouncy castle, face painting and much more.
Brighthouse store manager, John Hart, said: “We would like to ask anyone who will be in Blyth on the day to really get behind the race and help us to raise this incredible amount.”
Keel Row centre manager, Callum Reid, said: “This is a fantastic event that all the family can enjoy and I’m thoroughly looking forward to it.”
“Whether you take part in the race or not, there is a fantastic range of entertainment to be enjoyed and I have no doubt that Brighthouse will reach its target goal for the day.”
