February is end for playgroup

A CRAMLINGTON playgroup is set to close down next month.

Eastlea Playgroup will close on February 14, but Cramlington Kids Club, which operates out of the same site, will continue to run as normal.

Tony Mays, head of early years and schools at Northumberland County Council, said: “We understand the manager of Eastlea Playgroup, which is run by a voluntary provider, has written to parents indicating the intention to close.

“We have worked with the management group to try to find solutions, however, it has not been possible.

“We continue to work with other providers in the area to ensure that alternative provision is available.”
