Fire service warning of hob danger

Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service is urging parents and carers to make sure children know the hazards of a hot hob.

As part of the nationwide ‘Fire Kills’ campaign, the service is asking parents and carers to make any kitchen activities a chance for children to learn of the dangers involved.

Chief fire officer Alex Bennett said: “There are lots of creative ways to teach kids about cooking safely this summer. And it’s absolutely vital that they know what to do if the worst should happen.
