Fires started outside of homes in Ashington

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after fires were started in Ashington.

Two fires were set in Sycamore Street between 1.30pm on Wednesday, December 26, and 1.55am the following day.

One was a fire to rubbish in a small bricked alcove attached to the house, causing a small amount of damage, and the second was to a plastic bin kept in a small alcove, causing damage to the bin.

Both fires are being treated as suspicious with extra patrols taking place in the area.

A WOODEN fence was damaged outside a house in Bedlington Station.

Police are appealing for witnesses after slats on a six-foot wooden fence in Woburn Drive were damaged at 10.45am on Wednesday, December 26.
