Five arrests after man is stabbed in Seaton Delaval attack
FIVE people have been arrested in Seaton Delaval after a man was stabbed in a house on Tuesday night.
The 25-year-old was inside the property in Wheatridge when a group of people went inside and assaulted him, resulting in him being stabbed in the shoulder.
He is currently in the RVI in Newcastle receiving treatment, where his condition is not believed to be life threatening.
Five people were arrested in connection with the investigation, a man aged 18 and woman aged 22 on suspicion of aggravated burglary, a 46-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman on suspicion of causing GBH with intent, and a 23-year-old man on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
They are currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.
DS Lorraine Wardle said: “At this stage it’s not believed this was a random incident and five arrests have been made.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened.”
