Footballers’ charity run

Members of Cramlington United Football Club are stepping up their fundraising effort to support a local charity aimed at helping young people.

Around 30 members of the club will take part in the Junior Great North Run, and eight will take part in the Great North Run in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Dave Malone, from the club, said: “Everyone at Cramlington United is extremely proud of the unique partnership with the Teenage Cancer Trust and of the money we’ve raised for them so far.

“In September we have a group of players, parents and coaches taking part in the Great North Run in what is truly a team effort.”

The Teenage Cancer Trust’s Zoe Hull said: “We are really pleased with how many of Cramlington United’s members are taking part.”
