Four arrests after stabbing

FOUR people were arrested after a man was stabbed at a house in Ashington.

Police were called to the property in the Garden Villas area of the town at 12.13am on Wednesday, October 24, following reports of a disturbance.

Officers found a 20-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, where his condition was described as critical but stable.

Three men aged 18, 19 and 25 and a 23-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of wounding.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and a police spokesperson said they believed all those involved were known to each other.
