Full house appeals to winger
JONAS Gutierrez is hoping his new St James's Park home can be turned into a fortress.
The winger – on his way back to England after playing for Argentina in their goalless draw against Belarus in Minsk last night – made his competitive Newcastle United debut in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
And Gutierrez is looking forward to building on that result when Bolton Wanderers come to St James's Park on Saturday.
He said: "We want to win our home games, starting with Bolton, and make it a difficult place to come for opponents.
"After Man United, we are aiming to win to next match. We have to make it two good games.
"We had a good start at Manchester United. It was an important to get a point there, because it's a difficult place to play. Man United are the champions, so it was a big result."
Gutierrez's name was sung by Newcastle's 2,500 travelling fans at Old Trafford, with many donning Spider-man masks in tribute to him.
And he is looking forward to seeing St James's Park full for the first time, having turned out in the home friendlies against PSV Eindhoven and Valencia.
The 25-year-old added: "The supporters were great at Old Trafford, and now I am looking forward to see the stadium full at home.
"Already, I know that they always shout a lot. They stay with us in games, that's not just important to me, it's the same for all players."
Gutierrez's countryman and fellow new signing was also in action for Argentina against Belarus.
The pair are due back at United's Benton HQ tomorrow ahead of the Bolton game.
