Staff and youngsters at a Blyth parent toddler group are raising a cup thanks to a generous donation from one of the mums.

South Beach Stay and Play parent/toddler and baby group, which meets in the scout headquarters in Blyth on Tuesday mornings, is run entirely by volunteers.

Helen Nicholson, whose son Charlie attends the group, ownsthe Beauty Rooms in Bowes Street and was looking for an organisation she could support.

Beacuse of her links with the toddler group, she decided to help them out by donating 50 new cups to the youngsters, which they were in desperate need of.

Maureen Adcock, who started the group in November 2006 with Jan Greer, said: “The children and parents/carers of the South Beach Stay and Play Group are extremely grateful for this generous gesture.

“We would like to thank Helen for her donation of the cups.”

The group meets in the Scout HQ on South Beach estate in Blyth on Tuesday mornings from 9am to 11am.
