Half term courses for free

Northumberland College is inviting members of the public to try some of its popular courses for free during the February half term.

The one day workshops will give people the chance to take part in a range of practical activities and sample the wide range of courses offered at the college’s Ashington and Kirkley Hall campuses.

The hands-on workshops are open to all ages but will be useful to those in year 11 looking for their next steps after GCSEs and those interested are being urged to book their place in advance Other sessions include hairdressing, beauty therapy, hospitality and catering, sport and public services, travel and tourism, block paving, brickwork, plumbing, welding, equine, horticulture and many more.

Nigel Lister, Vice Principal Curriculum at Northumberland College said: “These workshops provide an excellent opportunity to sample life as a college student. You can come in and have a look around and try out some fun and interesting course related activities across the range of different subjects that are available here.

“You will finish your chosen workshop more informed about college life and our excellent facilities and more prepared for your future.”
