High A-level pass rate for Bedlingtonshire school

CELEBRATIONS have started at Bedlingtonshire High School after pupils achieved a 96 per cent pass rate in their A-levels.

And 31 per cent of grades were As and Bs, with a significant increase in average points per entry.

Two students gained three straight As, one two straight As and a further five students' grades were all As and Bs.

Principal Kieran McGrane said: "We are very proud of what the students have achieved, this is in no small part down to their hard work and outstanding commitment to their studies, along with excellent guidance from staff and parents."
