Holywell mum was stabbed to death

THE woman found dead in her Holywell home on Monday afternoon has been named as Tina Casey.

The 42-year-old was stabbed to death.

The woman was discovered by police officers at noon on Monday after a car crash in Shiremoor on the same day.

Officers had found items in the vehicle which led them to her address, and after forcing entry in the property they discovered the body.

A post mortem conducted on Tuesday established that the cause of death was stab wounds.

Enquiries are ongoing and two people, a 32-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, were arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder.

The man has now been bailed while the woman, who was the driver of the car which crashed in Shiremoor, remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Anyone with information about the death or the crash is asked to contact police on the 101 non-emergency number, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Crimestoppers may offer a reward for information which leads to an arrest and charge.
