Staff from a home in Blyth are celebrating after being shortlisted for a prestigious national award.
The team from The Mews in Cowpen Road, a service which supports young people with learning and physical disabilities, run by Voyage Care, are finalists in the personalisation category of the Independent Specialist Care Awards.
The team were nominated for providing personalised support based on each individual’s interests and goals, while ensuring everyone has access to the activities and experiences that other young people can enjoy.
Activities enjoyed this year include foreign holidays, parasailing, speedboat trips and outward bound adventures.
The team has enjoyed a run of success as it recently won the care team category of the Great North East Care Awards and are now finalists in the national event.
Voyage Care chief executive Kevin Roberts praised the team for their passion, hard work and commitment.
The winners will be announced in London on March 12.
