Housebuilder to help boost charity’s funds

A CHARITY in the county that offers a range of opportunities to further the social and personal development of young people is set to have its funds boosted by one regional housebuilder.

Persimmon Homes North East has nominated the Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project (CVYP) as the company’s official charity partner for 2013.

In 2012, the charity received a cheque for £6,000 as one of the runners-up in Persimmon’s 40th anniversary competition to win a brand new home.

The charity was established in 1990 and helps run events, activities and educational sessions for young people aged from eight to 18, or up to 25 for people with special needs.

Robert Hall, executive manager for Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project, said: “A huge thanks to the generosity shown by the employees of Persimmon Homes North East.

“Sourcing a sustainable income stream is difficult in today’s economic climate.

“Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project is suffering substantial cuts, so any additional funding like this from Persimmon, is very much appreciated.”

John Eynon, managing director for Persimmon Homes North East, said: “We want to build on our working relationship with this inspirational charity and are only too pleased to offer our continued support.”
