Inspection firm lands £275,000 investment

AN Annitsford firm has secured £275,000 worth of investment to enable it to fulfil a new contract with a global drilling contractor.

Cenelec Standards Inspections (CSI) helps plants handling potentially explosive materials – such as oil rigs and refineries, distilleries and chemical factories – to meet their health and safety obligations.

The Apex Business Village firm has landed a new deal with Weatherford Drilling International, one of the largest global providers of products and services to the drilling industry.

Workers at CSI will now take responsibility for the compliance inspections required for its fleet of more than 200 drilling rigs worldwide.

To help provide the cash needed to pay for the new equipment that contract will require, CSI has been given £275,000 worth of investment by the Finance for Business North East Growth Fund, administered by Newcastle-based NEL Fund Managers.
