A MOTHER enjoyed a day of pampering after being named the ‘Most Magnificent Mam’ in a shopping centre competition.

Mother of three daughters Jean Morrison, from Seaton Delaval, was given the prestigious title after her daughter Kate nominated her in the Manor Walks Shopping & Leisure competition.

In her nomination, Kate – who bought Jean flowers and a bottle of red wine for Mother’s Day – said her mam always showed love to her daughters, six grandchildren and the children she fosters.

Jean said: “I had no idea my daughter Kate had nominated me so it was quite a shock when I was told I’d won.

“I’m delighted to have won the title of the region’s Most Magnificent Mam and I feel like a queen after being pampered from head-to-toe, thanks to my daughter nominating me and Manor Walks for offering me this fantastic prize.”

Among her prizes, Jean received a No7 pamper pack courtesy of Boots, a nail treatment worth £25 from Star Nails, a cut and finish at Saks, a family meal at Lal Qila and a £20 Asda gift card.

Manor Walks general manager Bruno Coppola said: “Mams are at the heart of family life so we’re thrilled to offer Jean Morrison the title of the region’s Most Magnificent Mam.

“Our Mother’s Day competition was yet another way in which we were able to give something back to our customers.”
