A brave fundraiser from Seaton Delaval jumped off the Tyne Bridge to show her support for a local hospice.
Katy Fulthorpe joined more than 40 other daredevils in taking the plunge with a zip slide from the iconic bridge, across the Tyne and landing in the car park of HMS Calliope on the Gateshead side of the river.
Family, friends and staff from St Oswald’s Hospice were there to cheer on the participants, who have been raising money for the organisation through sponsorship.
Katy said: “I decided to take part as St Oswald’s really helped my family when they cared for both my grandad and my godmother.
“This was my way of something good for them.
“I’ve raised £215 so far but I’m aiming for more.”
Lucy Smith, fundraiser at St Oswald’s, said: “We rely on supporters who take part in events such as this one to help raise the £6.5m needed each year to continue providing care and support to families.”
