A Blyth supermarket had a special visitor as part of a Downton Abbey themed event.
Asda Blyth in Cowpen Road held the event to launch its ‘Click and Collect’ service, where its very own ‘Lady Grantham’ arrived in a vintage Daimler courtesy of Debonair Cars.
The ‘lady’ was met by a line-up of curtsying colleagues waiting to deliver her groceries for Downton Abbey.
Community life colleague Diane Barnes said: “Click and Collect is a fantastic new service we are offering to customers that gives the advantage of shopping in your own time from the comfort of home.
“Customers choose which day they wish to collect their shopping and pick a two-hour time slot in which to collect.
“This gives freedom to collect after work or pre-plan for the return from holidays.
“We anticipate this being a great service to our customers.
“Downton Abbey is a pretty topical show at the moment and we thought it would be a great touch to bring Downton to Blyth, and it was great to have our own Lady Grantham.”
