A large lady and top north east landmark has shown her support for cancer research by donning a giant pink bra.

The Rotary Club of Cramlington recently held a pink picnic at Northumberlandia, with the intention of raising the profile of Breast Cancer Care.

The stunt was part of Breast Cancer Campaign’s Wear It Pink day, which saw Rotarians and friends spend 90 minutes assembling the pink bra and taking part in a picnic.

Club president Steve Perola said: “Overall the aim was to promote Breast Cancer Care, but in doing so to bring the local community together for a planned event which was free to attend.

“Between 500 and 1,000 people attended, and various groups joined in the theme with pink t-shirts and there were a couple of dogs who had pink collars on, also.”
