A childcare provider has received a funding boost thanks to players of a national charity lottery
Cramlington Kids Club was awarded £3,000 by the People’s Postcode Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The organisation will use the money to provide multi-sensory and soft play equipment that will be used by babies, toddlers, early years and especially children with special and additional needs.
Business manager of the club, Helen Welsh, said: “Sensory and soft play resources are known to help children of all ages develop skills, share experiences and enhance senses in a safe and nurturing way.
“Through providing new positive opportunities in our club for the children, it will inevitably enhance each child’s own capabilities, confidence and self esteem and so making them more rounded children in our community and for future employees.
“Cramlington Kids Club will use this equipment as a way of encouraging positive behaviour with challenging children and also help with their relaxation in times of stress.
“Through stimulating their senses in ways that encourage their development, we will be able to create a sensory and soft play area to create an interactive and fascinating experience for the children.”
“Having multi-sensory equipment will mean the children are exposed to a higher level of interaction, therefore, lessons learnt will be more appealing and rewarding,” she added.
