STUDENTS at an Ashington school have been supporting their community.

Youngsters at Hirst Park Middle School have been taking part in ‘Make a Difference’ week.

Year 5 and 6 pupils worked on the school garden which was overgrown, preparing the garden for plants in the summer, and creating features.

They also invited residents at nearby sheltered accommodation to lunch.
