Man left with head injuries

POLICE are appealing for information into how a man suffered a serious head injury in Newbiggin.

Northumbria Police received a report from the ambulance service saying they had taken a man with head injuries from an address in King Georges Road to Wansbeck General Hospital at 2.40am on Sunday, February 24.

Following initial enquiries, officers know the man left the Coble Inn just before closing time and visited the chip shop in Front Street, before turning up at the address in King Georges Road with serious head injuries.

It is unknown how he received the injuries.
