Michelle’s passion for Hindu art helps her cope with loss

A MUM from Blyth who looked to the Hindu religion to help her cope with the death of her beloved grandmother has found comfort in creating her own exotic art.

Former office worker Michelle Temperley-Laverick has now turned her passion for Hindu art into a business.

Michelle said: “I initially only started painting again to get me through a very difficult time in my life, but as my collection of paintings and design grew I realised that I had something that could be turned in to a business.”

Named after her grandmother Catherine Temperley, who died in 2003, Temperley-Studio.com, draws on Michelle’s exploration of the religion which helped her so much during her bereavement.

She was inspired to pick up her paint brush and create works of art, depicting a number of Hindu gods and goddesses and also designs jewellery and clothing.

In setting up her business, Michelle had advice from the Ready for Business support programme, delivered by TEDCO.
