To celebrate Mother’s Day this Sunday, Northumberlandia has a special offer for visitors.
The first 100 visitors to the Lady of the North’s new visitor centre and café this Sunday, March 30, will receive a free tea or coffee.
Euan Hall, chief executive of The Land Trust, said: “We are pleased to celebrate the opening of the visitor centre to the public by inviting people to come and have a drink on us.
“The Park has had over 100,000 visitors in its first year.
“Obviously we can’t buy them all a drink, however, with a new visitor centre and café we can offer an improved visitor experience and encourage even more people to visit the region.”
The visitor centre has been built thanks to funding secured by The Land Trust, the national charity managing Northumberlandia, from the Banks Community Fund and Defra’s RDPE Rural Economy Grant, totalling £242,000.
The visitor centre will be managed by Azure Charitable Enterprises.
Chief executive Peter Elliott added: “We are thrilled to be opening the visitor centre to the public this weekend and are looking forward to welcoming even more people to this unique attraction.
“The café provides a range of food and drink, so as it is Mother’s Day why not treat your Mum – your special lady with a visit to a special lady and have a drink on us.”
The visitor centre will be open this weekend from 10.30am to 3.30pm, then from April 1, it will be open every day from 9.30am until 4.30pm.
