A new group set up to help disabled people and their carers is proving a hit just months after launching.

The Choppington Disability Group (CDG) meets on the first Friday of the month to give disabled people and their carers a chance to get out the house, socialise and make new friends.

Volunteer Graham Huntley said: “There wasn’t a disability group in Choppington.

“We are here for support, to give a voice for those who need it most and to advise on disability issues. We’re getting new members every month.”

The group, set up last September, meets on the first Friday of the month at 10am at the Stakeford and Bomarsund Welfare, in Gordon Terrace West, Stakeford.
