Two new businesses are set to move into Cramlington, much to the delight of local residents.
Work is due to start soon on two new outlets on open land next to Dewley outdoor centre.
And the developer, Panos Papaioannou, has said both units have already been snapped up – by a franchise fish and chip shop and an ice cream factory with cafe.
The director of PanPan Properties Ltd, which owns the land, said: “It’s an exciting project. It’s something Cramlington needed for families and young people and we’re looking forward to these shops opening.
“They will provide good services to the people of Cramlington and the local community, especially the ice cream factory as its near a main cycleway so will be a good stop off for families out cycling.”
Both units are expected to create up to 20 full and part-time jobs. Work is due to start at the end of the summer and finish next February.
