New women’s social group is already a hit

TWO days after a group was created for women in the area to make new friends, more than 20 people had signed up.

Northern Lasses has been set up by Gillian Prior, of Cramlington, for women who are looking to enjoy socialising with each other.

And even though the launch meeting is still weeks away, 24 women have already signed up.

Gillian said: “Sometimes women feel like they aren’t at the same stage of life as their friends, maybe they aren’t married, or don’t have children and are looking to socialise.

“It’s not targeted at single people, just women who enjoy nights out, going to the cinema, for a drink or meals, spa days, and people who want to meet and make new friends.”

Northern Lasses is holding its launch meeting on Wednesday, March 20, at The Three Mile Inn in Gosforth.

Membership is £5 for the year to cover the running costs.

Gillian added: “We have put an age bracket on 20 to 60-years-old on it, but that’s just a guide, anyone can come along.

“There is no age restriction.”

“We have got different events planned already in areas like Cramlington, Morpeth and Gosforth, as we know not everybody likes travelling into Newcastle.”
