Newspaper on the move to new base

The News Post Leader editorial department is this week moving its operation to its Morpeth office.

The reporters and photographers will be based in the same building as the title’s advertising staff, where they will work on both the News Post Leader and its sister title the News Guardian.

The office at 17 Newgate Street is also the base for the Morpeth Herald.

Since the Leader’s offices in Ashington and Blyth were closed in the 1990s and mid-2000s respectively, the newspaper’s staff have worked from Whitley Bay.

As from Friday (tomorrow), all contact with reporters, photographers and advertising staff will need to be done through the Morpeth base.

The operational change will also see a gradual move from reporting and photographic staff being predominantly office-based to more remote working in the communities of both south east Northumberland and North Tyneside.

To contact editorial call (01670) 517171 or email news.leader@jpress.co.uk. For advertising call (01670) 516066.

The address is 17 Newgate Street, Morpeth NE61 1AW
