Two staff are gearing up for an epic bike ride along the length of the country.
Sam Woods and Steve Parks, from Morpeth and Blyth, will be riding more than 1,000 miles from Land’s End to John o’Groats to raise money for ‘Mind’.
The pair, who work for Blyth-based Tharsus Group, are currently undergoing a strict training regime under the watchful eye of sports therapist Katie Watson.
Starting on August 18, they aim to cover around 100 miles a day for ten days.
During part of the ride Sam and Steve will stay at accommodation donated by HF Holidays and Ardarroch Cottage.
The pair have also held fundraising events including the raffle of a painting by local artist Kate Simpson and the ‘Great Tharsus Bake Off’.
Sam said: “I cannot wait to finally get the challenge under way. The training has been extremely difficult, but has prepared me for what lies ahead.
“Mind is a charity I hold in very high regard. It has helped someone close to me through a difficult time and I am proud to be giving something back.”
Steve added: “We are very grateful for the support and sponsorship we continue to receive, without this generous help the challenge would not be possible.
“The ride will push the both of us to our limits but knowing that we are raising money to help such a deserving cause will give us the motivation to push on.”

Brian Palmer, CEO at Tharsus Group, said: “The commitment the guys have shown to support this excellent cause has been fantastic.
“Not only is the effort they are putting into their training exceptional, they are also doing well to generate funds from colleagues through some great fundraising activities.”
