Pedestrian dies after being hit by lorry in Blyth

A 40-year-old pedestrian has died after he was hit by a lorry on the Spine Road in Northumberland.

The accident happened on the A189 at around 2.40am this morning (Tuesday) between the Three Horse Shoes Inn and Blyth Asda.

The road was closed and diversions put in place.

Police have spoken to people who were in the area at the time but would like to hear from anyone with information who has not already spoken to officers.

Information can be passed to the investigation team by calling 101, quoting log 114 of 20/05/14.
