Police urge motorcycle users to be vigilant
POLICE in Northumberland are appealing for information after two motorbikes were stolen last weekend.
Between 9am on Thursday, February 25, and 7.30am on Saturday, February 27, thieves have stolen a Better 125cc, black coloured motorcycle from an address in South View, Cambois.
Thieves have then taken a red and black coloured Keeway Fact 125cc motorcycle from outside a house in Oxford Road, Stakeford, between 11pm on Friday, February 26, and 10am on Saturday, February 27.
Police are linking these two thefts to a previous one in which an orange coloured KTM 250 motorcycle was stolen from a garage in Bedlington station between Monday, February 15, and Friday, February 19.
Bedlington neighbourhood inspector Ross Davidson said: "I'd ask that people stay vigilant and report anything suspicious going on in their neighbourhoods to police and for anyone with any information about these thefts to contact us.
"We believe that whoever is stealing these motorbikes may be taking them away in a vehicle rather than pushing them away or making off on them. Anyone who sees any vans or trucks which look suspicious shouldn't hesitate to contact police."
"Advice on home security is available through neighbourhood policing teams who will arrange for crime prevention advisers to get in touch."
Anyone who has any information about the thefts is asked to contact police on 03456 043043 ext 69191, or CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.
