Youngsters at a county academy have celebrated the end of term with a leavers’ prom.
Year 11 students from the Blyth Academy enjoyed their prom at the Marriott Hotel in Gateshead, where they were treated to a red carpet arrival, and then fun in the form of a photo booth.
Prom king was awarded to Marc Grey for being an outstanding student who is polite, helpful and hard-working and for his commitment to PE studies and extra-curricular activities, and prom queen was awarded to Shannon Clark for her hard-working and mature attitude, commitment to achieving and encouraging others.
Every student was also given a ‘class of 2014’ t-shirt as a memento.
Blyth Academy principal Alison Jobling said: “We are extremely proud of the young people who have recently completed their examinations and wish them every success in the future.”
