Students from a county high school have taken part in a special workshop to help them learn about looking after their money while at university.

Year 12 students at Ashington High School, took part in MyBnk’s Uni Dosh programme, that covers all the essentials needed for student finance including loans, grants, scholarships and bursaries.

The session is aimed at 16 to 25-year-olds who are considering going onto higher education and looks at money coming in as a student, money going out, and managing the finances.

The programme is also beneficial for those looking for jobs as it goes through a shopping challenge.

Jan Hume, student support officer at Ashington High School, said: “The sessions gave great information for the students looking to go to university.”
