Pupils get webchat with Harry Potter star

PUPILS from an Ashington school have enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime chance to quiz a star of the world famous Harry Potter films.

Youngsters at Ashington Community High School's after school scheme FILMCLUB hosted its furst ever webcast with 22-year-old Tom Felton, who plays Harry Potter's nemesis Draco Malfoy.

FILMCLUB leader Derek Gardner said: "The students and also members of staff are extremely excited about the FILMCLUB webcast and the fact that such a well-known film star will be answering their questions live on screen.

"They have come up with some really interesting questions and look forward to hearing Tom's answers.

"We don't often get the opportunity to interact with celebrities and are gratefully to FILMCLUB for providing this opportunity."

The webcast, the first for FILMCLUB, will enable the 100,000 strong membership to access the special event – arranged as part of the initiative's Close Encounters programme that enables school children to interact with film industry professionals.

During the webcast Tom was asked a selection of magical questions from our Sorting Hat to discover the real man behind his role in Harry Potter, learn about his adventures in the wizarding world and films that inspire him, and what he plans to do next.
