Hundreds of female runners from across Northumberland braved the wind and rain and took up the fight against cancer at a top visitor attraction.
Mums, daughters and grandmothers navigated around Northumberlandia in Cramlington in a unique Race for Life event.
Joanne Edwards, event organiser for Northumberland Sport, said: “We weren’t let down by the ladies this year.
“Despite the poor weather forecast leading up to the start time, they turned up in big numbers.
“It was great to see so many women and girls turning out to help raise money for such a special cause.
“We hope that this will inspire more people to utilise local opportunities to keep running.
“It might even tempt a few to join local running clubs.”
The race was started by author Stephanie Butland, who overcame her own battle with the disease.
