A youngster from south east Northumberland has won first place in a health and safety competition.
Stakeford schoolgirl Emily Pattison, eight, won the competition launched by oil and gas exploration and production company, Inpex, by designing a poster entitled ‘Be Healthy, Be Safe’ echoing Inpex’s ‘Zero Harm’ and ‘Safety Number One’ slogans.
Emily was presented with her prize, an iPad Air by Mark Fisher, a safety manager for Inpex, who travelled from Perth, Australia, where Inpex is based.
The competition was open to individuals and family members of those working on the prestigious Ichthys gas project off the coast of Western Australia.
Emily’s dad Richard, who works for FES International, said: “We’re very proud of Emily, she put a lot of effort into her design and did so well to win the competition.”
