Shoppers’ generosity leads to cash boost for charities
Asda Cramlington cheque presentations to (left to right-back three) Ian Irving-2nd Cramlington Scouts, General Store Manager Aidan Rutherford, Lindsay Carr-Deputy Head from Shanklea Primary School and Hollie Rankin from place2be.
THREE charities are celebrating the news that they will share £300 between them.
Shoppers at the Asda store in Cramlington have been taking part in the Chosen By You token scheme, where they put a stoken in the box of the charity of their choice.
Dorothy Laing from the store said: “At the end of the two months the charity with the most tokens receives £200, and the other two receive £50, so all the charities benefit.”
Shanklea Primary School and Place2be accepted cheques for £50 and 2nd Cramlington Scouts took the big cheque, after receiving the most tokens from shoppers.
