Shuttle service for footbridge

A FREE shuttle bus service is to be provided for residents in Cramlington following the closure of a vital footbridge.

Northumberland County Council will provide the free bus service to assist local residents following the closure of the Beaconhill footbridge.

The shuttle service is expected to begin on Monday, March 4, subject to tenders from local bus and taxi operators, and will operate two return services from 9.30am and 10.30am, and one return service each between 2.30pm and 3pm, and 4.30pm and 5pm.

The service will be from Longridge Way to bus stops on Forum Way.

The footbridge bridge will remain closed in the interest of safety as it is no longer serviceable.
