Staff threatened by two armed robbers

A quantity of cash, cigarettes and alcohol was stolen from a shop in Blyth by armed robbers.

Two men, one armed with a knife, entered the Select & Save shop in Druridge Drive and threatened a staff member before fleeing with the items.

Although the staff were left shocked, no one was injured in the incident, which happened just after 9pm on Sunday, December 8.

Both men had their faces covered during the robbery.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the raid.

DI Jeff Brown said: “We’re carrying out extensive enquiries into this robbery to trace the two men involved, this includes checking CCTV in the area and speaking with witnesses.

“Although shocked, no-one was injured in the incident.

“Any witnesses or anyone with information about who is responsible is asked to contact police as soon as possible.”
