Two of Northumberland’s most talented performers will be centre stage after winning the prize of a lifetime.
Joe Allan and Lewis Hill beat off stiff competition from 15 talented Northumberland singers and musicians at a live showdown at the Phoenix Theatre in Blyth.
And the pair will now get to live the dream as they perform at the free Northumberland Live music festival this Bank Holiday Saturday, August 23, to a crowd of thousands alongside chart toppers The Christians.
Joe, from Cramlington, won in the over 18s category for his original acoustic song Diseases.
The judges were impressed by Joe’s Ed Sheeran-inspired captivating and sincere performance.
Lewis Hill, 13, was the winner in the under 18s section for his performance of 1961 classic Run Around Sue.
Lewis, from Holywell, has already received success after winning the Bedlington Big Event. Lewis has always loved 50s and 60s styles of music and fashion and the judges felt he delivered on the night.
Joe said: “I am delighted to be sharing the stage with some great acts and to have the opportunity to showcase my material to a wider audience.”
Lewis said: “I am really excited about performing at Northumberland Live, this is a really good chance for me to perform in front of a large audience.”
