Street fight leads to head injury

A MAN has suffered a head injury following a fight in a Blyth street.

At 1.47am on Sunday, October 28, police received a report of two males fighting in the street in Southend Avenue.

A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital with a head injury, at this stage his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers are carrying out enquiries in order to establish what happened and initial enquiries suggest he may have been hit with a metal bar.

The incident happened between the Isabella Pub and the grassed area.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray.
