Students plan series of events

PUPILS are planning a MAD return to school once the half term holidays are over.

Youngsters at Central Hirst Park Extended Primary School, in Ashington, will be running Make a Difference (MAD) week next week.

Several events are planned, including an afternoon tea party for care home guests.

The tea party will take place in the school hall at 2pm on March 1, where there will be music of a bygone era, plus cakes, sandwiches, scones and refreshments.

Children from the school will be making, preparing on the day of the event and serving the residents.

The event was organised by the Friends of Hirst Park to encourage the students to make a differencein the community.
