Young and old helped bake up a storm at a school’s fundraising fair.

Hareside Primary School, in Cramlington, was blessed with sunny weather for its school fair which helped draw in the crowds.

Children had fun with a football shoot-out competition, a coconut shy andsplat the rat, but they had most fun throwing wet sponges at their headteacher, who was in the stocks for the afternoon.

The fair was opened by special guest Flash the Falcon, from the Newcastle Falcons.

Parents and children also took part in a range of activities including roll a pound, Pirate Pete and bottle in a bag.

Year 6 pupils at the school also used the fair as a venue to sell their products as part of the Virgin Money Enterprise Challenge.

There was other fair events and a Hareside Bake-Off competition.

A spokesperson for the school’s PTA thanked those who attended and sponsors Delta Force Paintballing, Adventure Valley Durham, Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens, Round the Twist soft play, Heighley Gate Garden Centre, Morrison’s Cramlington, Azure Garden Centre, Whitehouse Farm, TJ’s Jungle plus Newcastle Falcons, who all donated generously.
