Teenagers to get a taste of college life this half term

TEENAGERS wondering what to do when they leave school will be able to get a taste of college life during the half term break.

Northumberland College will be holding a taster day for 15 and 16-year-olds on Monday from 9.30am until 3.30pm.

The event, for Year 10 and 11 students, will offer a chance to take part in a range of practical, hands-on activities and to sample the range of courses on offer at the college.

Activities range from electrical engineering at the Ashington campus, in College Road, and tasters in animal care and agriculture at Kirkley Hall, near Ponteland.

Other sessions include hairdressing, beauty therapy, hospitality and catering, sport and public services, travel and tourism, block paving, painting and decorating, plumbing, welding, equine, outdoor education, horticulture and more.

For more information, or to book a free place, call (01670) 841200 ext 387, or e-mail advice.centre@northland.ac.uk
