Therapist lands second award

A SPEECH and language therapist from Ashington has won a national award for commitment to her profession for the second year running.

Julie Carr received the Newly Qualified Practitioner award at the Royal College of Speech and Language’s annual Giving Voice awards ceremony in London.

Her win comes a year after she received an Outstanding Contribution award at the 2011 ceremony.

Julie said: “To have been recognised for my campaigning is amazing but I don’t do it alone and would like to say thank you to everyone for their enthusiasm and support for Giving Voice this year.”
