Thieves saw down poles

THIEVES sawed down telegraph poles to steal a length of metal cable from a field in Hepscott.

The theft happened between noon on Friday, February 22, and 10.55am on Monday, February 25, although the cable was found nearby.

Anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the area over the weekend in question should contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191.
