Nearly 100 youngsters have taken part in a five-a-side football competition organised by Northumbria Police.

Held at Morpeth Riverside Leisure Centre, it was organised by the Morpeth neighbourhood policing team.

Police community support officers Paul Moorhead and Susan McCallum organised and attended the event, which was won by PFC Juniors, with Stobhill MD finishing as runners-up and Hadston Juniors in third.

Daniel Dodds, from PFC Juniors, was awarded player of the tournament.

CSO Moorhead said: “We love organising events like this and giving the kids in Morpeth something to do during the school holidays.

“We had a great turn out this year with around 90 kids coming along and taking part in the event.

“The event is great for us as it gives us a good opportunity to engage with local kids and their parents.”
